Why EBM is foundational at CAAHM
A traditional-medicine school that does not teach evidence appraisal produces practitioners who cannot defend or refine their craft. Every CAAHM student conducts at least one full systematic review during their degree, on a Han-medicine clinical question of their choice, supervised by methodology faculty.
The EBM-Copilot platform
CAAHM operates ebmc.nature.edu.kg, an open-source SaaS that automates the steps of a Cochrane-grade review: PubMed / CrossRef / Europe PMC / Semantic Scholar / OpenAlex search, dual-reviewer screening with AI agents, full-text retrieval via Unpaywall + Europe PMC + CORE, structured extraction, R-based meta-analysis (metafor + Hartung-Knapp), GRADE assessment, and manuscript drafting. Students learn the methodology by running it.
Critical appraisal skills
GRADE certainty, RoB 2, ROBINS-I, AMSTAR-2, PRISMA-2020 reporting, and TIDieR for intervention description — taught not as boxes to tick but as tools to interrogate any clinical claim, including those from classical texts.
